Feeling like treasure hunting this summer?
You’re in luck: August is THE month for big flea markets in Belgium. Some have become true institutions, others are hidden gems — but they all have one thing in common: they’re perfect for finding vintage treasures.
Here’s my personal shortlist of must-visit flea markets this August — with handy info and my own insider tips for each one.
August 3: Big flea market along the Ourthe river (Hamoir)
Not the biggest, but definitely one of the most charming.
👉 300 vendors set up along the river — perfect for browsing, strolling, and soaking in the calm, green surroundings. It’s the ideal mix of flea market fun and a scenic day out.
📍 Along the banks of the Ourthe River.
My tip: pack a picnic or plan a terrace break to enjoy the setting. It’s the perfect vintage + nature combo.
August 15: Eugies flea market & craft fair
1,000 vendors spread over 7 kilometers of stalls — one of the biggest flea markets in Wallonia. A must if you’re in the area… or willing to hit the road for it!
My tip: getting away from big cities (like Brussels or Liège) often leads to the best deals. Fewer pro buyers, lower prices, and still plenty of hidden treasures waiting to be found. So grab your GPS, your coffee, and hit the road early — it’s totally worth it.
16-17 août : La mythique brocante de Temploux
Unmissable. Legendary. Endless.
Temploux brings together 900 vendors, 6 kilometers of non-stop treasure hunting, and an incredible vibe over two full days.
📍 Practical info, parking, opening hours and map available at brocante-temploux.be
My tip : get there early, bring water, and start with a first round just to scout. You’ll find everything — brocante, vintage, antiques, kitsch, rare gems… it’s a treasure hunter’s paradise!
August 24: Eghezée flea market (indoor & outdoor)
A lovely mixed flea market with around 450 vendors spread across the indoor and outdoor areas of the Hall Omnisport. The vibe is more local, but you can still score great home decor and furniture finds at fair prices.
📍 At Champ de Foire, entrance via Route de Gembloux 32
My tip : don’t skip the indoor stalls — you might find better-preserved pieces or more specialized sellers in there.
Why is it worth going the extra mile?
As a Brussels-based treasure hunter, I say it all the time: the farther the flea market, the better the deals. Fewer crowds, less competition, fairer prices…
Sure, it takes a bit of planning (and sometimes an early morning wake-up call), but it’s absolutely worth it.
