What is Julie Beau?
Julie Beau is an online boutique dedicated to vintage décor, characterful pieces, and carefully selected furniture.
But before becoming a webshop, it was a personal adventure, born in Brussels, with one clear goal:
to make vintage more accessible, more joyful, and less elitist.
A return to Belgium… and a new idea
After spending a few years abroad, I came back to Brussels and felt the urge to start something new — something that truly reflected who I am.
A project rooted in what I love: beauty, colour, home décor with personality… and of course, the thrill of the hunt.
At home, we’ve always been into design. Art déco, art nouveau, bold interiors with soul.
My parents passed that on to my sisters and me — a love for beautiful things and an eye for detail.
And me? I love to thrift. I love to buy (maybe a little too much 😅).
If I could, I’d keep it all! But let’s just say… my wallet wouldn’t agree.
So the idea of buying vintage to resell it was perfect. It felt like the right balance.
Learning, training, taking the leap
Before opening my own shop, I spent a year working with an antiques dealer in Brussels.
It was total immersion: watching, learning the ropes, touching the pieces, understanding the styles…
And most importantly: building a network, which is essential in the world of vintage and second-hand.
Then I co-founded “Non Peut-Être!” in the iconic Marolles district, together with James — a passionate and experienced vintage dealer. He’s also an artist and was a great support in the early days.
That neighbourhood is a world of its own: daily flea markets, antiques, a unique mix of people and stories.
From physical shop to e-shop
When the shop closed, the desire to keep going was still there. That’s when I created Julie Beau — an online version of my vintage universe, with the occasional appearance at vintage fairs to stay connected with people.
A different take on vintage
At Julie Beau, you don’t need to be a collector or a design expert.
It doesn’t have to be a signed piece (even though I sometimes have those too). What matters is the spark — that little detail that catches your eye. The charm, the colour, the vibe.
I speak to everyone: men, women, younger or older, whether you’re into chrome, wood or colour…

What Julie Beau means to me
It’s not a job. It’s my happy place. I never get tired of it. Every day I discover new objects, new forms, new ideas.
Human creativity never ceases to amaze me.
I do almost everything myself — from selecting pieces to writing SEO content, creating visuals, handling marketing and communication.
And I’m still learning, every single day.
